Terms & conditions

Last updated: 3 July 2026

The short version: the pack is free, the postage is free, and the return is free if you say no. We test and weigh what you send, email you an offer with the evidence, and pay by BACS if you accept. You can say no at any point before accepting, and your silver comes back at our cost.

1. Who we are

SendMySilver is a trading name of Peter Smith, a sole trader. Our postal address is SendMySilver, c/o This N That Ltd, Unit 3, 2A Cambridge Street, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2 2TP, United Kingdom. You can reach us at [email protected]. These terms apply whenever you use this website or send us items.

2. The service

We buy silver by post. You request a free pack, post your items to us using the pre-paid envelope, and we test and weigh them on arrival. We then email you an offer, including photos, per-item weights, and test results. If you accept, we pay you by bank transfer (BACS). If you decline, we return your items free of charge by insured, tracked post.

3. Free means free

We do not charge for the pack, the postage to us, the testing, or the return postage if you decline our offer. There is no circumstance in which we send you a bill for the standard service.

4. Your side of the deal

5. Offers, rates and deductions

6. Payment

When you accept an offer we pay by BACS to the UK bank account you nominate, normally the same working day. Timing of receipt depends on your bank.

7. Returns and cancellation

You can ask for your items back at any time before you accept our offer, and we will return them free by insured, tracked Special Delivery, normally within one working day of your request. Once you have accepted an offer and payment has been made, the sale is complete and the items belong to us.

8. Post and insurance

Packs travel by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes insurance cover (up to £2,500 as standard). If you plan to send items worth more than the standard cover, tell us on the form before you post and we will arrange enhanced cover first. If a pack is lost in transit, we will help you make the Royal Mail claim with our tracking data.

9. Identity checks

UK anti-money-laundering law requires identity verification above certain transaction values. If this applies to your pack, we will ask you to verify your identity through a secure link before payment. We cannot pay out where a required check is not completed.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer. We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example postal strikes).

11. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email [email protected] with “Complaint” in the subject line. We aim to acknowledge within one working day and resolve within ten.

12. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (or your local UK courts where consumer law provides). We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page at the time you send your pack is the one that applies to it.
